AquaSonic Car Wash debuts with New Port Richey site grand opening

AquaSonic Car Wash will take the first step in what it hopes will be the building of an aggressive footprint in the industry with the grand opening of its first location next week in New Port Richey, Florida.

The brand, established in January 2024 by London and West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Henley Investment Management, will officially open its first site June 25.

AquaSonic, which also recently announced a strategic partnership with AlphaEdge Investment Management, has confirmed plans for 15 additional locations and a target set for 100 sites nationwide.

  • Car wash customers invited to join Autobell in support of Make-A-Wish: Autobell Car Wash is inviting its customers to join in a campaign to bring hope to critically ill children through a special campaign with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Through June 29, the company will donate $1 from every sale of its ‘Rain Repellent Special’ wash during that time to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The fundraiser will take place at all Autobell locations in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. Read more here.

  • Wash N Go Car Wash recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest location at 1921 High House Rd. in Cary, North Carolina. The state-of-the art wash offers fast and eco-friendly car wash services, including both express and full service and detailing. The location also is home to a BP gas station and a convenience store/min-mart. The family-owned company has roots dating back to 1987 in South Florida. 

  • Commercial mobile car washes or detailing services that send rinse water into the city’s stormwater sewer system would be breaking the law under an amended ordinance that cleared the Camden (New Jersey) City Council last week. The amended ordinance will get a public hearing at the July 8 city council meeting, where the council will decide whether to make it law. Advocates said it ordinance was needed to ensure compliance with the federal Clean Water Act.

  • Residents of Anchorage, Alaska, got their first look of the interior of a mysterious new city building last week with the opening of the Cyber Express Car Wash. The site, with its futuristic ‘Cyber’ logo, is considered the third largest in the United States (by size) and fifth largest in the world. Following the tunnel wash, drivers are directed to a conveyor belt lined with Cyber employees. Once the car is driven onto the conveyor belt and the driver has exited (you can relax in a nearby lounge), the employees then vacuum, buff and wipe the interior.

  • Car Wash Association welcomes immigration crackdown at UK car washes: The Car Wash Association, a non-profit in the United Kingdom that sets quality and safety standards in the car wash industry, says it welcomes the crackdown on illegal working arrests and believes even more should be done. The CWA says there has been a 51 percent rise in illegal working-related arrests since July 2024. Immigration Enforcement teams have also undertaken nearly 50 percent more visits. “The scale of non-compliance is extremely alarming, and these operations undermine legitimate car washes,” a statement from CWA chairman Brian Madderson said. “Civil penalties up to millions were issued during 2024 alone – however, only 5 percent of these fines were collected.”
