• Tidal Wave Auto Spa opens second Pensacola (Fla.) location: Tidal Wave Auto Spa, one of the nation's fastest-growing express car wash companies, celebrated the grand opening on Wednesday of its second location in Pensacola, Florida. The site is offering eight days of free premium car washes (Graph-X4) through Jan. 15. The new location is Tidal Wave’s 21st location in Florida and 286th across 30 states. In the coming months, the company plans to open five additional locations in Florida. Read more here.

• The Kwik Trip in Germantown, Wisconsin, is looking to move to a new location, where it would build a new facility that includes a two-bay car wash, more fueling options and increased store space. The Germantown Village Board recently approved a conditional use permit for the project and a zoning change from general business district to highway business district. The move is expected to be completed by the end of April.

• Jane Street Group LLC lifted its holdings in Mister Car Wash in the third quarter, according to its most recent disclosure with the Securities & Exchange Commission. The fund owned 99,099 shares of the company’s stock (worth $645,000) after buying an additional 74,673 shares during the quarter.

• Capitalizing on a recent bout of severe winter weather in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., the Mister Car Wash location in Tysons, Virginia, is offering a “Snowstorm Special,” which consists of unlimited car washes for the first two months for $9.99 per month. After the two-month promotion period ends, the price moves to $14.99 per month (Unlimited Signature Washes) or $19.99 (Unlimited Extra Shine Washes).

• Claro Carwash adds new location in Netherlands: Claro Carwash recently announced the acquisition of Carwash De Duif, a location near the cities of Arnhem and Duiven in the Netherlands which has been in operation since 2006. Claro is a group of high-end car washes that are part of the Torqx Capital Partners portfolio. The company currently operates 16 car washes in the Netherlands under the brands Claro Carwash, Wasdas, Matz Carwash, and XXL Muiden, and three car washes in Germany under the Niagara Carwash brand.
