El Car Wash makes over $50 million worth of acquisitions in Florida

El Car Wash is continuing its rapid expansion – particularly in the state of Florida – with the acquisition of a total of nine car wash sites.

ECW announced on Tuesday it has acquired six ZIPS Car Wash locations in Orlando, Florida, and three SPIN Car Wash locations all located in Broward County, Florida.

The pickup of the six ZIPS sites is part of the fallout from ZIPS’ recent decision to voluntarily file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

“We are thrilled to welcome the ZIPS Orlando locations and the SPIN Car Wash Broward locations into the ECW family. These are excellent additions to our portfolio as we continue to expand further throughout Florida and deepen our presence in our core markets,” said Justin Landau, ECW’s co-founder and chief strategy officer.

  • The Bubble Bath Car Wash, which started with its first car wash in San Antonio, Texas, in 2008, recently celebrated the grand opening of its 10th location in the city. In 2023, the company joined the QuikTrip Corporation. Two additional locations will be opening soon – another one in San Antonio and one in nearby Floresville, Texas.

  • Big Peach Car Wash held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week for its newest location in Kennesaw, Georgia. Kituwah, LLC has majority ownership of the Big Peach Car Wash in Kennesaw, sharing ownership with Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. The site is one of 11 in the growing franchise with plans to add 25 more. Big Peach has already broken ground on another location in Asheville, N.C.

  • Quick Quack Car Wash, the largest and fastest growing chain of car washes in Texas, is giving away the top car wash package on every vehicle through Feb. 16 to celebrate its new car wash in Houston, Texas, on Cullen Boulevard. The new location brings the total number of Quick Quack locations in Texas to 67 including more than 25 in the greater Houston area. Quick Quack has 275 locations in Texas, California, Utah, Arizona, Washington and Colorado and is regularly recognized for its community-building efforts as well as its environmentally friendly business practices.

  • A new Tommy’s Express Car Wash location plans to open soon in Coldwater, Michigan, and has joined the Coldwater Chamber of Commerce. The site promises a fast, high-quality, and eco-friendly car wash experience. Tommy’s Express has 233 locations open around the country with 80, including the one in Coldwater, opening soon.

  • Car Wash-based TV show debuts in Canada: Customers of Bell Fibe TV can now watch a Canadian-based, car-centric comedy show. “Car Wash Wars” – called an “absurdist, comedic” take on the New Brunswick city of Saint John – centers around the character Kayla Polley who takes over her dad’s manual car wash business after his forced retirement and must contend with a wealthy oligarch who opens an automated car wash as competition.
