• SunCar, Walmart China complete deal for car wash services: SunCar Technology Group, a cloud-based provider of digitalized enterprise auto services based in Shanghai, China, announced this week it had secured a lucrative contract with Walmart China to provide car wash services for its Sam’s Club members. Under the contract, worth $6.8 million, SunCar will deliver premium car wash services for Sam’s Club members across 17 Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Zhuhai.   Express Hits  🎯 

• During a recent meeting, Lewisville (Texas) City Council members approved a special use permit for a Quick Quack Car Wash location to open after remodeling a site formerly occupied by Kwik Kar. It’s the third Quick Quack location planned in Lewisville. The franchise was founded in California in 2004 and now features more than 250 locations in five states.

• Whitewater Express Car Wash recently opened their newest location in Baytown, Texas. The express wash chain, founded in 2015, and based in Houston is ranked among the top 15 car wash companies in the United States by Car Wash Advisory with around 130 sites across six states.

• The newest installment of ZIPS Car Wash’s “Car Wash Convos” – where college student-athletes from across the Southeast are interviewed during “ride along” car washes – features University of Georgia gymnast Lily Smith. Smith shares what advice she’d give her younger self and her go-to guilty pleasure snacks. Season 3 features a total of 18 episodes.

  Making Waves Around the World  🌊 

• Scotland car wash forced to address neighbor concerns: A car wash in Inverurie, a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, which opened without planning permission could remain in operation after the owner is making efforts to appease angry neighbors. Owner Ilim Tanyelli converted the former builders yard last year into Elims Car Wash & Valet Centre but did so without getting the go-ahead from the Aberdeenshire Council. Nearby residents have voiced complaints about noise and increased traffic at the site. Tanyelli has proposed several changes and will present them to the Garioch Area Committee for approval.
