• Global mobile car wash market to see big growth: The global mobile car washing market has witnessed significant growth in recent years, driven by increasing consumer preference for convenient and eco-friendly vehicle cleaning solutions. Mobile car washing services provide on-demand cleaning at customers' preferred locations, reducing the need for traditional car wash visits and saving time. A recent study from Persistence Market Research estimates the market will grow from $9.3 billion in 2024 to 21.7 billion in 2033. • The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking public comment on a car wash site in the New Castle area. DNREC entered into Brownfield Development Agreement with JBS Car Wash due to the possibility of hazardous substances released on the site.

• A new car wash is set to make its debut in Forney, Texas, following the recent approval of a construction project. The site, with an estimated cost of $1.8 million and occupying an expansive 8,800 square feet, is expected to begin construction on March 1. The expected completion date is June 30, 2026. The design and engineering will be handled by Triangle Engineering LLC based in Allen.

• The city of Lakewood, Colorado, recently clamped down on the opening of any new gas stations and car washes, passing an ordinance that establishes buffers to limit eligible sites. The vote during the city council meeting was 9-0. Lakewood’s move comes ahead of a similar effort by the Denver City Council, which is expected to vote soon on its own proposed restrictions on gas stations.

• Clean Freak Car Wash, powered by Circle K, recently opened its newest location in Marana, Arizona. Clean Freak operates 29 locations across Arizona and Texas, combining cutting-edge services with eco-conscious practices. Members also enjoy exclusive fuel discounts at participating Circle K locations.

• Tommy’s Express location to open in Brampton: OpenRoad Auto Group, which operates 33 dealerships across Canada and represents 20 vehicle nameplates, created OpenShine last year to bring Tommy’s Express Car Wash sites to Canada. The plan is to open several locations in Ontario, such as Brampton, St. Thomas, London and Waterloo. The Brampton location is under construction and will be a part of OpenRoad Brampton East Toyota and OpenRoad Honda Brampton. The location was chosen to tap into the expertise the OpenRoad dealership has in managing customer relationships and customer outreach and marketing. Not all locations for Tommy’s Express Car Wash will be near or part of OpenRoad dealerships. Read more here.
