ModWash vastly expands its leadership team with several new hires

ModWash recently announced the appointment of several new vice presidents and regional directors of operations, expanding its leadership team.

The group brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the operator, which ranks among the top 15 car wash companies in the United States by Car Wash Advisory. ModWash, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has over 120 sites.

“These seasoned professionals are set to drive ModWash’s operational excellence, foster team development, and enhance the overall customer experience,” the company said in a statement.

“Their collective leadership will play a pivotal role in advancing ModWash’s mission of delivering exceptional service in the car wash industry.”

  • Sonny’s CarWash College announces 2024 award winners: Sonny’s CarWash College, an educational learning resource for car wash operators, recently announced its 2024 instructor, tech specialist and rookie of the year award winners. Tyler Davidson was presented the Shawn R. Brown Award for Instructional Excellence. Brown was a former CarWash College instructor whose life was tragically cut short. Ben Martin was named Rookie of the Year and Jorge Jaramillo was named inaugural winner of the Sonny Fazio Award for Technical Expertise; an award created to reward tech support agents for excellent customer service.

  Express Hits  đźŽŻ 

  • Progressive Real Estate Partners announced last week the $5.2 million sale of a Mobil gas station, convenience store and express car wash in Colton, California. The seller is an Inland Empire-based private party who owned the property for over 30 years and the buyer plans to renovate the convenience store and make other changes to improve the customer experience. The purchase includes the business and the real estate.

  • Less than two weeks after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the bay of a Marietta, Georgia, car wash, police have made an arrest, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported. Robert Baker, 70, was taken into custody on Jan. 13 and charged with murder after investigators linked him to the fatal shooting. He is accused of killing Daniel Lanard Richardson Jr., 59, on Dec. 30.

  • An attorney representing Washville Car Wash, based in Long Island City, N.Y., formally requested the Woburn (Mass.) City Council for permission to withdraw the company’s special permit application for a new location in the city. Washville has not given up on a Woburn location but withdrew its application based on resident opposition to the current 1.5-acre site which was to house a new three-lane express car wash.

  • Richmond, Va.-based Car Pool Car Wash, which has five locations, was recently purchased by two longtime employees. Mark Harrison, the company’s chief financial officer, and Tyree Brown, the chief operating officer, are now equal co-owners of the company. The company was founded in 1977.

  • Mini showroom to be replaced by car wash in Poole: Mini’s car sales showroom in Poole, a town in Dorset, England, is set to be demolished under new plans by a dealership. Marshall Motor Group has launched a bid to remove the dealership building in Wallisdown Road and replace it with a car wash. Meanwhile, Mini will move into the BMW dealership next door. German giant BMW bought Mini in 1996 from the Rover Group, but the cars are still made in the UK at BMW’s Oxford plant. Marshall Motor Group’s plans for a new car wash and valet service would be placed at the back of the site. Read more here.
