• The Squeaky Clean Car Wash in Ithaca, N.Y., plans to add two automated cashier kiosks which its hopes will streamline transactions, including allowing its Unlimited Wash Club owners to complete a wash more quickly. The City of Ithaca’s planning board but sign off on the plan before the upgrade is made.

• A regional, family-owned car wash business has expanded with three new locations in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Drive & Shine first opened in South Bend nearly 30 years ago and now has 20 locations throughout southern Michigan and northern Indiana.

• The city of Lynchburg, Va., confirmed a new Take 5 Car Wash will eventually open on the site of a former Honda car dealership on Old Forest Road. The plan for the renovated site includes vehicle stacking lanes, self-pay stations, and vacuum stations. There is no timeline for an opening.

• New tech debuts in Saskatoon car wash: A new car wash featuring more environmentally friendly cleaning options recently opened in Saskatoon, the largest city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The owner of the Orange Car Wash says the technology used inside his touchless auto car wash – which features oscillating nozzles – is the first of its kind in the province. The wash also utilizes about 43 gallons of water per vehicle. The wash recycles much of its water and utilizes biodegradable products. Read more here.
