Report: Spotless Brands exploring possibility of sale
One of the largest car wash companies in the United States is exploring a sale, according to Reuters, a news agency based in London.
In a report published Wednesday, Reuters cited anonymous sources that claim the owners of Spotless Brands are exploring a sale that could value the car wash operator at nearly $3 billion including debt.
Spotless operates around 200 locations across 10 states and Washington, D.C., with its brands including Bluebird Express, Cobblestone Auto Spa, Epic Shine, Flagship Carwash, Okie Express Auto Wash, and Ultimate Shine Car Wash.
Investment firm Access Holdings established Spotless in 2020.

El Car Wash celebrates its 50th Florida site in style: El Car Wash, Florida’s largest and fastest-growing car wash operator, has a special celebration planned in honor of its surpassing 50 sites in Florida. The company is hosting the event at its first Florida site, off Bird Road in Miami, Fla. The company, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Miami, operates express car washes in Florida and Michigan. The Bird Road Miami site will host a special celebration on Friday, which will include attendance by co-CEOs Justin Landau and Geoffrey Karas, who plan to share remarks on the brand’s success and vision for 2025. Richmond, Va.-based Car Pool Car Wash, which has five locations, was recently purchased by two longtime employees. Mark Harrison, the company’s chief financial officer, and Tyree Brown, the chief operating officer, are now equal co-owners of the company. The company was founded in 1977.
A proposal to convert a former Friendly’s restaurant in North Providence, Rhode Island, into a ScrubaDub Car Wash seems to be back on track again now that the appeal filed against it was denied by a Providence/Bristol County Superior Court judge earlier this month. The deferred plans have left the site vacant and dilapidated since it closed in 2019.
The town of Kimball, Nebraska, will see its first automatic car wash open soon. Patriot Car Wash will have a self-wash side and an automatic side. The self-wash side has been open for a few weeks, but the opening date of automatic side isn’t set as it awaits programming to be completed. Planning for the site began five years ago but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
ModWash recently celebrated the grand opening of its second location in area of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The new site offers a wide range of the latest technology and amenities, such as the “newest fully automated bug prep” for all washes, free vacuums, air tools, automatic mat cleaners, window cleaner, microfiber towels and more.

Car wash in Scotland allowed to remain open: A car wash in Inverurie, a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, which originally opened without planning permission will remain in operation after receiving unanimous approval from Garioch area committee.
