The 2160 Straits Turnpike location in Middlebury marks the first Fred’s Carwash location that was acquired by Summit Wash Holdings to be rebranded as a Speeders location.

  • El Car Wash is hosting a block-style grand opening party on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for its newest location at 7651 University Blvd. in Winter Park, Florida. The event will include live music, complimentary treats from local businesses, giveaways (including a chance at a year of unlimited washes), free washes for new customers and special membership promotions.

  • A new MyWash Car Wash location recently opened in Warsaw, Indiana, including a ribbon-cutting for the business hosted by the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce. It is the operator’s second location, with the first site in Marion, Indiana. Amenities at the site include free vacuums, mat washer and exterior and interior cleaners for windows. MyWash offers five different single-wash options and four different membership levels.

  • A new Surf Thru Express Car Wash recently opened at 505 N. Reed Ave. in Reedley, California, according to the Reedley Chamber of Commerce announced. The car wash has partnered with St. Anthony Food Center to support a community food drive. The car wash is currently accepting donations of non-perishable food items.

  • Johor to revoke licenses of car wash operators who cater only to foreigners: Local authorities in Johor Bahru plan to revoke the business licenses of car wash operators who refuse to serve Malaysians and cater only to foreign customers, especially from Singapore. Johor housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor said he viewed such behavior seriously, following viral social media posts alleging that a car wash outlet in Johor Baru prioritized Singaporean vehicles. He said the state government would direct local councils to investigate such businesses and take firm action if the discriminatory practice continues, The Star reported.
