Super Star Car Wash expands to 110 sites with more on the way

Super Star Car Wash’s expansion surge shows no signs of slowing, nor are its efforts to differentiate itself from its competitors.

Within the last two weeks, the express wash operator has opened new locations in Tucson, Arizona, Mesquite, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Colorado Springs location is the 110th location for the company founded in 1993 in Chandler, Arizona, and ninth in Colorado.

“The last year was monumental in regards to growth for our company and the 110th site opening is a huge milestone for us. Plus, a wonderful way to kick off this new year,” Nicole Rodriguez, Vice President of Marketing for Super Star Car Wash, told CW Daily News.

  • Punta Gorda enacts moratorium on new car washes: Approvals for new car washes and storage facilities in the southwest Florida city of Punta Gorda will be put on pause for a period of 180 days, which will take effect following the Feb. 19 city council meeting. The council voted 4-1 last week to review current zoning for car washes and storage facilities and implement criteria adopted by the neighboring city of Cape Coral, Fla. The moratorium provides the city time to review its regulations and establish criteria for those businesses. Read more here.

  Express Hits  🎯 

  • Encore Car Wash recently opened a location in Oak Lawn, Illinois, marking the company’s fourth site, all in the Chicago suburbs. A second Oak Lawn site will be added soon. As part of its sustainability efforts, all of Encore’s facilities are built with reclaimed brick with the most recent site built with brick from a previously demolished building on South Pulaski in Chicago.

  • A new car wash, C.J. Car Wash, is set for a grand opening on Thursday in Concordia, Kansas. The site features an advanced onsite water reclamation system, reducing water consumption. It also utilizes a belt system to move cars through the wash, which allows for bigger vehicles. Other features include a light show in the wash, free amenities and Level 3 DC Fast EV Chargers on-site.

  • K-Town Real Estate is building a D’Luxe Auto Wash in Kewanee, Illinois, which is scheduled to open on April 1. The site will have two identical washing bays and include new, touchless car wash equipment from Petit Auto Wash Equipment. The 360-iXT equipment allows for 9-foot, 10-inch clearance, dual rear-tire trucks, and up to 23-foot vehicle length. Each bay will have Turbo dryer units and can wash an average of 15 vehicles per hour per bay.

  • Construction is underway for a new Mister Car Wash location at the site of the former Valley View Mall in La Crosse, Wisconsin, which has been divided into 10 parcels. GMX Real Estate Group out of Illinois has started a $1.5 million project which includes the car wash, a Raising Cane’s and Panda Express location.

  • Didcot plans for new car wash approved despite objections: The South Oxfordshire District Council recently unanimously approved plans to turn a vacant site in Didcot, a civil parish in South Oxfordshire, England, into a hand-operated car wash facility. The change of use application was originally objected to by Didcot’s town council over concerns about loss of parking and access issues. The plans also include building a temporary office and three marquees north of the car washing areas, which will have to be removed three years after the site being used. Read more here.
