• Does the Tesla Cybertruck have a car wash problem? Earlier this year, there were several reports about consumers complaining their Tesla Cybertruck developed problems following a regular car wash. Electric vehicles have many protections from water and the Cybertruck even has a dedicated ‘Car Wash Mode’, yet some owners were experiencing several hours of downtime. Even so, the owner’s manual specifically advises against taking the vehicle through an automatic car wash.   Express Hits  🎯 

• Shark Bay Car Wash recently celebrated the grand opening of its first car wash location on a site in Valdosta, Ga. Shark Bay offers a 120-foot tunnel, free vacuums and interior cleaning products. The tunnel can’t be missed as it’s built like the mouth of a giant shark – teeth and all.

• Mister Car Wash announced recently it was transferring its stock listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The voluntary transfer will take effect after the close of business on Dec. 31. Shares of Mister Car Wash are expected to begin trading on the Nasdaq when the market opens on Jan. 2, 2025. The shares will continue to be listed under the symbol MCW.

• Tinley Park (Illinois) city officials will consider plans next month for a retail shopping center that would include a grocery store, car dealership and gas station with car wash. The town will need to annex property for the project, which covers about 72 acres. The village board will meet to discuss annexation, special use permits and plan approval on Jan. 7, 2025.

• Car washes for buses in India: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced an automatic car wash system for cleaning buses. The first automatic bus washing unit is now operational on a trial basis at the Pappanamcode depot in Thiruvananthapuram, a city in Kerala, India. The new automated system is designed to clean buses in just three minutes. However, it only washes the sides of the bus, with the front, back, and interior still requiring manual cleaning by bus employees. The system consists of water-spraying nozzles and polythene brushes attached to two poles that move parallel to both sides of the bus. The poles move from the front to the rear of the bus. The bus is washed after moving through the system twice. Read more here.
