Vontier Corporation, a global industrial technology company, on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Sergeant Sudz, a leading provider of next-generation car wash tunnel automation and smart motor control center (MCC) technology.

  • Keeping it clean: For three decades the Hilde family has been washing cars in Montana: A recent article in The Daily Inter Lake, a newspaper based in Kalispell, Montana, recently published took a deep dive look into the 32-year history of Pro Clean Carwash in Kalispell. The car wash has remained in the Hilde family the entire time. Since its inception, the site still provides a brushless, touchless tunnel wash with hand drying and hand washing. The car wash also participates in multiple fundraisers throughout the year, where a percentage of proceeds go to various local charities. Read more here.

  • A new Flagship Carwash location is coming to Brooklawn, New Jersey at the intersection of Route 130 and Kings Highway. A team from Schorn Construction recently tore down a former gas station on the site ahead of the start of the car wash construction. The project was approved in 2022, originally to be developed as a Take 5 Car Wash. Signage for the construction company has been hanging on the protective barrier fence for several weeks. Flagship Carwash has more than 40 locations in the Washington D.C., Virginia and Maryland area.

  • A locally owned car wash, Freddie’s Auto Spa, is set to open in Bowling Green, Ohio, on June 14 on a site on North Main Street. Freddie’s combines state-of-the-art technology and a high level of customer service. The name Freddie’s Auto Spa is a nod to Bowling Green State University’s ‘Freddie Falcon’ mascot. The service packages for ‘Main Street’ and ‘Full Pull’ washes reference the downtown area and the National Tractor Pulling Championships held in town.

  • Last week, a fire broke out at an iconic car wash in Mountain View, California, doing severe damage to a building on the site of Kaady Car Wash, formerly known as Lozano Brushless Car Wash. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire burning through the roof of a single-story office building located on the car wash premises. The building was unoccupied at the time, and no one was injured. The cause remains under investigation.

  • Member banned from car wash in Canada for ripping down Pride flag: A car wash in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada, had one of its pride flags ripped off a door last week by a customer who said they were offended by the LGBTQ+ symbol. Security camera footage from Red Hill Car Wash showed the man grabbing scissors or pliers from his truck and ripping down the flag. The man, who held a VIP membership at the car wash, was banned. According to CHCH News, he returned days later to attempt to get his car washed. He refused to leave at first when told to leave and later left before police arrived.
