• Tommy’s Express celebrates grand opening of new Flex model location: A new locally owned and operated state-of-the-art express full-service Tommy’s Express Car Wash is celebrating its grand opening this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is the brand’s first Flex model in the country. A modern take on efficient car wash detailing, the Flex model takes the traditional Express design an adds a secondary conveyorized tunnel for compact interior detailing services. Read more here.

• The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking public comment on a car wash site in the New Castle area. DNREC entered into Brownfield Development Agreement with JBS Car Wash due to the possibility of hazardous substances released on the site.

• A new car wash is set to make its debut in Forney, Texas, following the recent approval of a construction project. The site, with an estimated cost of $1.8 million and occupying an expansive 8,800 square feet, is expected to begin construction on March 1. The expected completion date is June 30, 2026. The design and engineering will be handled by Triangle Engineering LLC based in Allen.

• The city of Lakewood, Colorado, recently clamped down on the opening of any new gas stations and car washes, passing an ordinance that establishes buffers to limit eligible sites. The vote during the city council meeting was 9-0. Lakewood’s move comes ahead of a similar effort by the Denver City Council, which is expected to vote soon on its own proposed restrictions on gas stations.

• Moroccan smart car wash startup gets private backing: Witamax, Morocco’s first private-backed venture capital firm, recently announced a $600,000 pre-seed investment in Washminute, an innovative startup hoping to transform the smart car wash industry. This milestone investment, supported by Tamwilcom, marks Witamax’s debut in the cleantech space. Washminute is tackling one of Morocco’s critical challenges: water conservation amidst growing hydric stress. By introducing cutting-edge, water-efficient car wash solutions, the company hopes to transform car washing into a fast, eco-friendly process that saves resources while offering unparalleled convenience.
